- None of the personal writing or code or art or music I've linked to above is produced by LLMs or generative AI unless otherwise disclosed.
- I believe AI can be extremely useful as a tool. But there are a lot of challenging conversations to have around the ethics of its usage and the impact it has on our work and lives and brains. I saw the movie Tron in the theater when I was a kid, and it blew my mind. Early in the movie, Walter Gibbs (the founder of the company ENCOM) says ruefully, "Won't that be grand? Computers and the programs will start thinking and the people will stop." That line always stuck with me. It seems more relevant than ever.
- Most importantly, I believe in humans making things for other humans, especially when it's done for enjoyment and self-expression. I write and create for fun and fulfillment and community. I'm not handing that over to a prompt.
